The female Holy Monastery of Saint Kyriaki is located twenty kilometers outside of Veroia, in the village of Loutros near Alexandria of Imathia.

According to tradition, in the 16th century, in the area, lived as an ascetic, Saint Kyriaki or Nea, who was sister of Saint Dionysius of Olympus, who for a number of years was an ascetic at the neighboring Aliakmonas, in the Skete of Timios Prodromos (Honorable Forerunner). Thus, a monastery was built outside the village of Loutros, in the plain of Imathia, that was dedicated to its beloved saint, which was named after the saint, Kyriaki the Great Martyr.

In the area of Loutro, was found after centuries, the miraculous icon of Saint Kyriaki, and at the initiative of the inhabitants, was initially built in 1914 a small temple, which was used as a hermitage of the nun Kassiani from the village of Vrasna of Chalkidiki, who lived there as a hermit for 30 years.

In 1961, with a royal decree, it was organized as a cenobitic nunnery, where initially dwelled two nuns, besides the nun Kassiani, who lived in her cell.
Recent years, many modern buildings and facilities have been added to the monastery under the care of the Holy Metropolis of Veroia, as well as guest houses for the pilgrims. Today in the monastery dwell the Abbess Filothei and three nuns.
It is one of the most important pilgrimages of Imathia due to the miraculous icon of Saint Kyriaki, and the monastery is linked to the memory of the inhabitants for its festival, which takes place on July 7, in the memory of the Saint Kyriaki the Great Martyr.
