Kimolos Kykladon

Kimolos Island is located in the southwestern part of the Cyclades and at a short distance from Milos. It is a hilly island of volcanic origin which used to be called "Arzantiera" (meaning “silver") by the Venetians and the Franks because of the greyish rocks on the coast. This pentagonal-shaped island has an interesting coastline with bays, small islands, sandy and rocky shores, and several impressive caves.

Kimolos is an island with few inhabitants and limited tourism development. The villages retain their authentic Cycladic features and the main town impresses with its simple architecture and deserted medieval castle. You will see many churches in the villages as well as the countryside of the island, which reveal the importance of religion in the life of residents.

How to get there:

Kimolos is connected with the port of Piraeus. The journey lasts 4.5 to 7.5 hours, depending on how many stops on other islands the ferry makes before reaching Kimolos. The stopovers usually include Kythnos, Serifos, Sifnos and Milos.
Kimolos is connected with Milos by ferries, speedboats etc. The journey lasts 10-25 minutes depending on the velocity of the boat.
